"The missionary path is quite simple: put Jesus at the centre of our heart
and then we can put Christ at the heart of the world" Father Oreste Benzi
The "Pope John XXIII Community association - Condivisione fra i Popoli ONLUS" was founded in Rimini on 28 March 1989 with the aim of “cooperating with the development of emerging populations, contributing to their achievement of cultural, social and political autonomy by way of programmes and educational courses for bringing about the development of our nation” (from Article 3 of the founding charter).
The association was recognised as an NGO (Non-Governmental Organisation) by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1999.
All the association’s activities and initiatives involve direct sharing with the poorest and most vulnerable people, with the intention, on the one hand, of alleviating their suffering in the short term and, on the other, by removing the causes of marginalisation and injustice.
The action taken both by the association’s own services and through partnerships with local organisations, mainly takes the following forms: welcoming in, nutritional support, childcare, disability support, education, healthcare, micro-finance and the promotion of human rights.
The beneficiaries of the action taken directly by the association or in partnership with other local and international organisations are mainly children (malnourished children, those with disabilities, street children and AIDS orphans), women, people with disabilities victims of violence or sexual exploitation, the homeless, people involved in armed conflicts and groups promoting human rights.
Sharing with the World’s Peoples takes part in national and international campaigns and networks and it is a member of the Italian Association of NGOs (AOI).
