Community members try to make their union with God a dimension of their life in which there is a place for the Lord, making room for payer and contemplation. The Word of God, Confession and the daily Eucharist, the Liturgy of the Hours, the Adoration and spiritual guidance support them as they walk with the Lord.
The time spent at desert retreats and the monthly adoration on Community Days both provide further valuable support in our progress with God. Moreover, in the knowledge that we are capable of spending our life entirely with the poor if we remain entirely with the Lord, every member of the Community is able to be with the Lord for as long as is necessary for their individual inner progress.
For some time the Pope John XXIII Community has been organising within the Community a world adoration. This initiative takes the form of a calendar covering all 365 days of the year and the members of each Area, in Italy and overseas, take their turn each day to make their Adoration of the Eucharist.
By making use of the different time zones, we are able to cover all 24 hours of the day together.
