Following on from Father Benzi’s intuitive idea to build a holiday home for in the Dolomites for people with and without disabilities, 1961 saw the opening of the "Casa Madonna delle Vette" (Madonna of the Peaks), a place for young people providing them plenty of play space, a large conference room and smaller meeting rooms. Today the "Casa Madonna delle Vette" is one of the biggest holiday homes in Val di Fassa and it continues to follow Father Benzi’s charism, becoming a place of sharing, not merely hospitality, but also in the way it is run, with room for the disadvantaged people welcomed into family homes, those coming from young offenders’ institutions and from the therapeutic communities, all of whom are able to put themselves to the test and find the right path for them.
The Royal Sands Children’s Hotel in Cattolica, is in a wonderful position overlooking the sea which also has the aim of enabling people in difficulty to find work.
As well as welcoming in guests, these holiday homes make room for Community life with holidays especially for young people in which they can share the life of family homes, cooperatives and work centres, for those wishing to spend a holiday in the company of the least.
